I love how music mimics life. There's something so enjoyable about listening to a song that goes perfectly with what you are doing. Like driving down the highway and listening to a good road song like Glory Bound by Martin Sexton. If I could find a song to sum up my life in 3-5 minutes I don't know what song it would be. Maybe Everyone's Beautiful by Waterdeep. Yeah that would be a sweet life soundtrack.

Flawed Design - By Stabilo

When I was a young boy
I was honest and I had more self-control
If I was tempted I would run
Then, when I got older
I began to lie to get exactly what I wanted
When I wanted it
- And I wanted it
Now, I'm having trouble differentiating
Between what I want
And what I need
To make me happy
So instead of thinking I just stop
Before I have the chance to contemplate the
Consequences of action

And I will turn off
And I will shut down
Burying the voices of my conscience hitting ground
And I will turn off
And I will shut down
The chemicals are restless in my head

'Cuz I lie
Not because I want to
But I seem to need to
All the time
Yeah, I lie
And I don't even know it
Maybe this is
All a part of my flawed design

And ever since I figured out
That I could control other people
I've had trouble sleeping
With both eyes closed
And if I asked permission
If I make sure it's ok
I promise I won't slip up this time
You can trust me
But never take advice from someone
Who just admitted to being devious
Who just confessed to treason
And I would ask
That you never ask a question
That I cannot ask myself
For it might
Dirty up your conscience

And how can you say those things
Why can't you just believe?
And how can you say those things
And keep a straight face?
And how can you say those things
Why can't you just believe?
And how can you say those things
And keep a straight face?

'Cuz I lie
Not because I want to
But I seem to need to
All the time
Yeah, I lie
And I don't even know it
Maybe this is
All a part of my
Flawed design

Here's a list of some of my favorite bands:
1. Mae
Sweet piano in this group. If you've ever heard Something Corporate and liked them, than you'll definitely like Mae. They sound a lot alike. Amazing musical talent.
2. Waterdeep
I heard a song by Waterdeep a while ago and fell in love with it, but I didn't know what their band name was. Check out their song Everyone's Beautiful. The lyrics in it are amazingly well written.
3. The Used
Not a big fan of their new album but their old untitled one is sweet. Poetic Tragedy and Taste of Ink are really good songs. You should check them out.
4. Kings of Leon
Not gunna lie, half the time I have no idea what they're talking about, but they have one of the most unique sounds I think I've heard in a band.
5. Matthew Good Band
Another artist where sometimes I can't tell what he's talking about. I've heard he's a real jackass in real life too. But other than that I love some of his lyrics, and I think he experiments with different sounds and ideas really well. A good band to listen to if you're in a mood to think about life.

Coldplay is amazing. I bought the Rush of Blood to the Head album recently (yes I know, horribly out of date) and wow, they have so much musical talent. One of the most exciting things about music, is how you can find songs that aren't written about God, but still fit. Take the Coldplay song, Warning Sign for example. What an image of coming back to God to, and I quote: "Crawl back into his open arms."

Doted on like seeds planted in rows
The untied shoelaces of your life
Nurtured all year and then pressed in a book
Or displayed in bad taste at the table
Problems arise and you fan the fire
While there's a wild pack of dogs loose in your house tonight.
Cut from bad cloth or soiled like socks
Add it up and basically people don't change
They just talk and make plans in the dark
Or make haste with ideas that can't help but creep good people out
As you talk to me, too much you're assuming
We don't always want what's right.

Did I strike the right set of chords? You're annoyed
The goal is to ignite you then move on.
You feel ill at ease, you got no squeeze
And the wise cracks won't make you more stable.
You've learned your lines to scale and to time
Why must I remind you that I'm only less able
Cut from bad cloth or soiled like socks
We're ordinary people we can't help but to change
As we walk and make plans in the dark
Or make haste with ideas that can't help but creep good people out
As you talk to me too much you're assuming
We don't always want what's right.

Two fallen saplings in an open field
Snow padding gently on an empty bench
An old woman's jewelry lying unadorned
Colonesting robins allied for the first time
I know when you read these sappy lines
You'll roll your eyes and say, "nice try."
